Mr. Woodman specializes in identifying business opportunities for firms and investment groups seeking acquisitions in the Manufacturing, Distribution, Services and Technology sectors. Mr. Woodman’s background includes ten years with IBM (UK) as a Senior Associate research engineer with responsibility for advanced processor design and test.
Mr. Woodman joined Philips NV (Holland) where he was appointed Business Development manager for Micro-computer products for Western Europe. In Europe, Mr. Woodman was the manager responsible for the design and marketing of one of Philips best selling mini-computers. Mr. Woodman was then given responsibility for the strategic marketing of integrated circuit devices for Western Europe. When Philips acquired a semiconductor company in Silicon Valley, Mr. Woodman was offered a position as Strategic Marketing Manager for high technology Integrated circuits for the US.
Subsequently he became a Vice-President for Institutional Equity Research (Technology Group) with Morgan Stanley in San Francisco where he was responsible for stock price recommendations to Institutional Investors on Morgan Stanley’s portfolio of semiconductor companies.
Mr. Woodman held the position of General Partner and Vice President for Venture Capital Investments with Prudential in New York and San Jose. At Prudential Mr. Woodman was responsible for sourcing the transactions, raising capital from private individuals and handling the Due Diligence process prior to making the investments. Mr. Woodman participated in over twenty such investments. Mr. Woodman held directorships at several public and private companies in the portfolio.
More recently he held the position of President of a California technology company, and the principal patent holder there until the company was acquired.
Mr. Woodman holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Decisions Analysis for investments, a Licentiateship (M.S) in Applied Mathematics as well as a B.Sc. degree in Physics. Mr. Woodman holds two US patents for electronic devices and is a Senior Member of the IEEE (the Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers).
John has managed business operations in Europe and the U.S. and desires to work with owners and entrepreneurs to further their business objectives. Mr. Woodman has demonstrated a capability to identify hidden value in business entities and present that value to potential purchasers.
